Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assistance and motivation to enhancing South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) expert services during an engagement along with the company's senior supervisors in a strategic setting up session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the many social grant beneficiaries, who excelled from the 2024 matric exams.
With the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for your National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% on the registered pupils in the schooling sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This indicates that the financial commitment national government is producing from the life of poor and vulnerable youngsters is yielding a constructive effects in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on recent achievements, the Minister highlighted crucial milestones and ongoing priorities. She committed to urgently addressing website the issue of long lasting leadership appointments as well as the shortage of personnel at most local places of work.
Also, the Minister highlighted the necessity for Local community-based engagements and outreach pursuits.
